About

Helping authors show their books to readers since 2006

Long before anyone could upload a cover and see their book in hundreds of real scenes within seconds, we were building tools that let authors show readers the book they had written.

Used by 50,512 authors, including New York Times and USA Today bestsellers.

We believe every author should be able to put their book in front of readers in a way that makes them stop and look, without having to become a graphic designer to do it.

  1. 2006

A studio shoot every author could afford

In the early 2000s we were creating marketing campaigns for large publishers and famous authors, with photography shoots that could cost ten thousand dollars once the lights, backdrops, props, and travel were paid for, and when self-published authors began asking how they could get images like that, we knew we had to find a more economical way of creating professional marketing materials for self-published and indie authors, so in 2006 we built our first tools for turning a book cover into a realistic image of the book, starting with Photoshop actions and then moving online.

  2. 2009

    Naming the book mockup

There was no word for these images yet, so authors asked for a stock photo of a book, a blank image of a book or a 3D book cover, and we were among the first to call them book mock-ups and, by 2009, among the first to drop the hyphen and call them book mockups.

  3. 2014

    From software to the browser

We went on to build high-resolution design files for authors who wanted more control, and then moved the whole thing into the browser, so an author could upload a cover and see their book on desks and in readers' hands almost instantly, with no design software at all.

  4. Today

    BookGraphix

BookGraphix goes beyond the mockup with videos, animated GIFs, cover reveals and ready-to-post social content built around your own cover, all aimed at the problem we have worked on for 20 years, which is helping every author get their book in front of the readers who will love it.

We do not claim to have invented the book mockup, but we are proud to have been part of its growth from a niche design technique into an everyday tool for authors and publishers, and prouder still to keep finding new ways to help authors use it to reach more readers.

BookGraphix is part of the Adazing family of author tools, and if you would like to reach us, the contact page comes straight to our team.

Your book deserves to be seen. Start with your cover.

It takes about a minute and costs nothing to see your own book in these scenes, and that is the fastest way to know whether BookGraphix is right for you.
